“The day Anjali Mitter Duva spent at The John Cooper School was an amazing one! From dancing for the Middle School students to discussing the journey of a writer with our Advanced Creative Writing students, she engaged and delighted her audience. She has a unique story which she shared brilliantly. We have been fortunate to have many fine authors on our campus in the past, and Anjali Mitter Duva ranks at the very top of those who truly connected with our students.” ~ Shannon Terry Wiley, Chair, Department of English, The John Cooper School (The Woodlands, TX)

School visits

An unexpected result of my being an author has been a number of very rewarding visits to middle and high schools as well as colleges. Engaging with teens and young adults on topics as varied as multicultural identity, multi-part careers, kathak dance, India's history, the craft of writing, becoming a writer, my circuitous path to publication, and of course FAINT PROMISE OF RAIN has been a highlight of my last few years. And it's always fun to include a little dance demo.

To book me for a visit to your school, please fill out the form below, or email me: anjalimduva at gmail dot com. Please include the grade level(s), the format you have in mind (class visit, assembly, workshop, special event, etc.) and a sense of your budget. I can be flexible on all fronts; together we can craft the experience that will be just right for your students.

“Anjali Mitter Duva’s presentation was both delightful and extremely informative. She kept us spellbound from beginning to end, through her talk, reading and dance demonstration.” ~ Elora Shehabuddin, Associate Prof. of Humanities and Political Science, Rice University (Houston, TX)

"The students and staff members were struck by your experiences and stories, and appreciated hearing the conversation you had with Grace Talusan. Thanks again for helping our community dig deeper into stories from Asian American communities." ~ Michele Leong, English Department, Newton North High School (Newton, MA)
